Poetry Slam! Santa Barbara - The Santa Barbara Independent

Did you know that there is a Poetry/Spoken Word group at Lehi Junior High? The Poetry/Spoken Word group is a group of students who are all excited about the art of Poetry! The Poetry/Spoken Word group is a place where poets, rappers, and lyricists can hone their craft with other artists in a supportive and nurturing environment.  Students can find their voice through reading, writing, and performing poetry.  If this sounds interesting to you, scan the QR code on one of the posters in the school hallways to sign up. Talk with Mr. Phillips, Ms. Price, Ms. Williams, or your English teacher for more information.

40 Best Friend Costumes 2021

Do you want to wear a Halloween costume on Friday, October 29th? Then this is how to make that happen.  We need to have 85% of students without an F grade by the end of Term 1.  If we hit that target of 85%, then costumes will be allowed.  Dress code will be enforced for costumes.  We can do this – We Run As One!

Basketball Open Gym Boys and Girls in Grades 5-7 | Fauquier Now Calendar

Are you a 9th grader who wants to try out for the 9th grade basketball team? But maybe you need to sharpen your skills?  Come to open Gym starting next week, October 12th.  Girls are invited to come on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-4:30pm.  Boys are invited to come Mondays and Thursdays from 3-4:30pm. Please come to prepare for Tryouts in November. Invite your friends along with you while you are improving yours skills. Contact Coach Christiansen or Coach Hatch for more details

It is time for our Annual Pumpkin Painting Contest.  Bring your painted pumpkin to the Library.  No carved pumpkins will be accepted.  Voting runs from the 25th to the 28th.  Winner will be announced October 29th.  The top three and a Principal’s Award will be given.  Everyone that enters will receive a candy bar.

Fall Food Drive

For the first service donation drive of the year, the Student Council has decided to have a Fall Food Drive starting in Term 1 and continuing throughout the month of October.

The student council will be bringing a box to each Home Room teacher Monday and/or Wednesday to collect the boxed and canned food.

Each week will be a Home Room competition with the student council counting during A4 on Thursday or Friday, and the winning Home Room receiving treats the following Monday as outlined.

  • 1st Week (Candy Bars)–Count on Friday the 1st of October with Treat on Monday the 4th of October

  • 2nd Week (Donuts)–Count on Thursday the 7th of October with Treat on Monday the 11th of October

  • 3rd Week (Ice Cream)–Count on Friday the 22nd of October with Treat on Monday the 25th of October

  • 4th Week (Pizza)–Count on Thursday the 27th of October with Treat on Monday the 1st of November
